ASUS ZenDrive U9M SDRW-08U9M-U 8x DVDRW USB-C External Optical Silver
External 8x DVD Writer, USB-C and Type A Interface, M-DISC Compatible, 13mm Slim Form Factor
Device feels a bit flimsy, especially when the tray is open. Purchased to load some old games, and found one disk so far will not load on this device, yet loads fine on my old PC's built in DVD drive, so not sure why it shouldn't read fine with this device, but it doesn't, so that was disappointing. Device is sold with some software, but the release of that software is considerably older than the device release date, and on loading it you are taken to a site to purchase the upgraded software. The Nero software for example was the 2017 version, and the Cyberlink backup software was from 2012, the Power to Go software was release 8, and the latest version is release 13. In my my view these should not sell with such outdated software, which is used as a sales ploy, but is really a sales con. So far I've not made much use of the device, but my impressions so far are far from great, and I only hope it works with my other games discs and when it comes to writing a DVD. Luckily these type of devices are becoming a thing of the past, as my latest install of MS/Office came on a USB drive for example.
